Beyton Swimming Pool
Beyton Swimming Pool opened on July 1, 1969, at a cost of £8,000, funded by the swimming pool committee and the local education authority.
It has a sheltered area for spectators and is enclosed within the boundaries of the school (now Thurston Community College Sixth Form Centre). Other schools from across the area travelled to use the pool, while it was also open to the swimming club on Mondays and Wednesdays.
The open-air facility has been shut since 2015 after the boiler stopped working but now an appeal has been launched to raise money to refurbish it.
